New Entrant Looks to Transform Insurance at POS

Meet Mulberry:

Think: a venture backed startup that’s on a mission to transform how insurance is offered at the point of sale, by enabling e-commerce retailers to offer a best-in-class consumer warranty program with minimal technical resources.

Founded in 2018 and based in NYC, Mulberry is led by founder and CEO Chinedu Elyeanya, who also cofounded Zibby, a Cognical company that has raised $286M to offer retailers a risk-free payment option geared toward consumers who don’t qualify for traditional financing options. Additional Mulberry cofounders include Lee Johnson and Ali Chaudry, who are both former Cognical employees.

The company plans to add integrations for major e-commerce platforms such as Magento, WooCommerce and Shopify. Speaking of Shopify, thinking of Clyde and Cover – the former missed its launch date and the latter offers a service that isn’t working (according to one review posted on April 12).

PS. Domain name Warryn.com – owned by Coverager – is up for grabs. Warryn is one of several origins of the name Warren, which means to protect or defend. It also has a good ring to it – best-in-class warranty program by Warryn. Pretty personal.
