Nationwide expands Ting program
Nationwide is expanding the Ting program to members in 44 states. In April, the insurer announced that the program was available in 26 states.
First launched in 2022, the Ting program has resulted in “incredible success stories” and helped prevent close to 800 potential home fires. The company previously reported that 50k customers have opted for the fire prevention program. Members receive a free sensor, the Ting app, 5 years of free fire prevention service, and a $1,000 credit for repair of Ting-identified hazards.
Ting, developed by Whisker Labs, monitors a home’s electrical system to help detect fire hazards before they become dangerous.
“Since launching our Ting program two years ago, we’ve seen firsthand how much members value the increased protection Ting provides. During this time, Ting has significantly reduced fire claims, increased customer loyalty, and demonstrated a clear positive ROI. This latest expansion is an exciting step forward in our five-year commitment to helping protect members from devastating electrical fires. The Ting program is a winner for Nationwide and our members.” – Sarah Jacobs, SVP Personal Lines Product and Underwriting at Nationwide.
“Nationwide’s commitment to expanding the Ting program reflects their forward-thinking approach to risk management and highlights the effectiveness of program investments to date. By preventing fires before they start, we’re not only keeping more families safe, but also helping Nationwide reduce claims, resulting in significant savings for both the company and its policyholders.” – Bob Marshall, CEO of Whisker Labs.
