Nationwide Excess & Surplus launches Property unit
Nationwide has appointed Tonya Courtney to lead its new Excess & Surplus Brokerage Property unit with the goal of opening for business in the second half of the year.
The Nationwide E&S Brokerage Property unit will deliver a comprehensive suite of non-admitted wholesale products and services, designed to address high-risk scenarios requiring specialized underwriting expertise. This new division aims to become a trusted partner for select brokers seeking innovative risk management solutions for their commercial property exposures.
Tonya joined Nationwide in December with more than 30 years of experience in commercial lines insurance managing complex property portfolios, fostering wholesale relationships, and driving underwriting excellence. Under her leadership, the new E&S Brokerage Property unit will focus on providing tailored solutions for hard-to-place property risks across various industries. She will report to David Nelson, Executive Vice President, E&S Wholesale at Nationwide.
Prior to joining Nationwide, Tonya served as Regional Vice President for Arch Insurance Company, where she led the Southeast Region E&S Property team. In this role, she oversaw the underwriting strategy and delivery of property insurance products and services through the wholesale distribution channel.
