MS Transverse appoints Tom McGrath to lead Program Underwriting

MS Transverse has appointed Tom McGrath as Senior Vice President, Head of Program Underwriting, as the hybrid fronting carrier continues to scale its MGA and program administrator partnerships across the U.S.

McGrath will report to Ethan Allen, Chief Program Officer, and oversee underwriting execution across MS Transverse’s program portfolio. His mandate includes strengthening underwriting consistency, supporting program growth, and providing senior-level oversight as the platform expands.

McGrath joins from AIG, where he served as SVP and Head of AIG U.S. Programs, managing roughly 30 programs representing about $1 billion in annual gross written premium. His background also includes program leadership roles at Old Republic Specialty Insurance Underwriters, ACE Insurance Group, and Munich Re, where he also worked as a reinsurance underwriter.
