Mosaic expands environmental liability division
Mosaic has expanded its Environmental Liability division by adding 13 environmental risk specialists across the US as part of its strategy to grow its business in the Americas. The new team members are spread across major cities, including New York, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boulder, and New Orleans, and join an existing group of experts already operating in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Central America, and Europe.
This expansion supports Mosaic’s goal to strengthen its presence in the environmental liability market, which is crucial for the company’s growth strategy. The US market is particularly significant due to its size and influence globally. The new hires bring expertise in various areas, such as energy, manufacturing, real estate, and emerging markets like energy transition. Mosaic also plans to introduce a combined general liability and pollution policy later this year.
Among the new team members are specialists like Iraj Dehnavi, Maureen Domenicone, and Thomas Duggan, who will lead Environmental Claims, ensuring close integration between claims handling and underwriting. This move comes after Mosaic’s recent relocation to new offices in New York City and the hiring of Toby Smith as CEO of the Americas.
Mosaic’s business model combines capacity from its Lloyd’s syndicate with capital from carrier partners to provide expertise in specialized, non-commoditized lines such as cyber, political risk, and professional liability. This latest expansion is a step towards further diversifying its product offerings and deepening its market engagement in the Americas.
