Mitchell plans Tractable vehicle inspection integration

Mitchell announced plans to expand its collaboration with Tractable through a proposed exclusive agreement to integrate Tractable’s LumaScanner vehicle inspection system with Mitchell Intelligent Estimating.

The integration would serve collision repair chains and independent repair centers in North America, generating preliminary repair estimates for appraisers to review and edit.

Vehicles are driven or towed through LumaScanner, which captures images and produces a time-stamped condition report. The images and reports would feed Mitchell’s estimating software, with the companies aiming to generate preliminary estimates in minutes.

The offering would complement Mitchell’s existing mobile photo-capture tools, giving repairers another way to document vehicle damage at intake. Mitchell did not announce a launch date.

The collaboration builds on AI-powered repair estimating announced in 2021 and an expanded claims automation relationship announced in 2022.
