Scoot, the low-cost arm of Singapore Airlines, announced the launch of M.A.R.V.I.E (Most Awesome and Resourceful Virtual Intern Ever), the first transactional chatbot used by an Asian airline. Available via the company’s Facebook Messenger, M.A.R.V.I.E can search for flights, make flight bookings and allow payment by credit card. In the future, M.A.R.V.I.E. will accept promo codes, assist customers in modifying reservations, and purchase additional products such as preferred seats and travel insurance.

 

Speaking of travel insurance, Scoot has recently partnered with AXA to provide Scootsurance – a comprehensive travel insurance starting June 26 2018, which replaces ScootProtect, its previous travel insurance product underwritten by Chubb.
