McGill and Partners launches cyber coverage for battery storage sector
McGill and Partners has introduced a new cybersecurity insurance solution tailored for the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) market. As cyber threats to critical infrastructure intensify, the independent broker designed this sector-specific coverage to address the unique operational risks associated with BESS.
Backed by certain Lloyd’s underwriters, the policy includes coverage for physical damage, business interruption, and regulatory costs resulting from cyber incidents or technical failures. It also offers bespoke terms aligned with the technologies used in energy storage systems and provides clients access to a dedicated emergency response team.
The launch reflects growing demand for industry-specific cyber protection as battery systems become more integrated into smart grids and critical infrastructure.
