Mashroom raises £4 million
London-based proptech startup Mashroom has raised £4 million in funding, bringing its total funding to date to £7 million.
Founded in 2018, Mashroom offers an end-to-end property rental platform for landlords and tenants that comes with a range of features such as property advertising, arranging viewings, credit history checks, maintenance requests, renters insurance, and more. The startup recently introduced a new and interesting feature where landlords using Mashroom can gift tenants one week’s rent once they’ve organized a successful viewing and a new tenant has moved in.
The startup also offers tenants an alternative to rent deposit with a product that was developed in partnership with insurer Arch Capital.
“Letting and renting is, for the most part, still a fragmented, bricks-and-mortar industry. The experience as a landlord or tenant normally still involves a traditional estate agent who acts as intermediary and charges a hefty fee. While plenty of new players have come along with tech to solve certain points in the experience, we are the first to look at the entire process from end to end.” – Mashroom founder Stepan Dobrovolskiy.
