Maryland approves Northern Neck–Frederick Mutual affiliation

The Maryland Insurance Administration has approved the strategic affiliation between Northern Neck Insurance Company and Frederick Mutual Insurance .

The two mutual insurers will join forces to create a regional carrier serving six Mid-Atlantic states and Washington, D.C. Together, they will support more than 450 independent agency locations with complementary personal and commercial products, local expertise, and a member-focused approach.

Northern Neck President & CEO Peter Cammarata will also lead Frederick Mutual, while Frederick Mutual CEO Nancy Newmister will transition into a strategic advisor role. Governance will be unified under the NNINS board, though both companies will maintain separate names, brands, and headquarters.

Policyholder services will remain unchanged as the organizations integrate shared support functions. Frederick Mutual will continue operating from Frederick, MD, and Northern Neck from Irvington, VA.
