Markd announces $500 million fundraise

Markd founder Parker Beauchamp announced that the firm’s debut fund is reopening to accept up to an additional $500 million in commitments. The Boulder-based venture capital firm, which invests exclusively in the insurance industry, may consider expanding the fund further by year-end in consultation with existing investors to accommodate additional insurance company commitments.

The fund will maintain its focus on investing in private companies shaping the future of insurance, pursuing both financial returns and innovation partnerships for its insurance company investors and their distribution partners. Markd may also take larger ownership stakes as it becomes more acquisitive.

Launched in March 2022 with $100 million, Markd has since made 68 investments across 22 active portfolio companies, including COVU , Pinpoint Predictive , Indemn , Ledgebrook , Irys Insurtech and others.
