Manulife appoints new chief actuary
Manulife has named Stephanie Fadous as its next Chief Actuary, effective May 9, 2025. She replaces Steve Finch, who was recently promoted to President and CEO of Manulife Asia. Fadous will report to incoming President and CEO Phil Witherington and join the insurer’s Executive Leadership Team.
Fadous currently serves as Manulife’s Global Treasurer and Head of Capital Management, where she oversees funding strategy and manages relationships with banks and rating agencies. She previously led the implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 across the organization and has held roles spanning global finance, actuarial, and asset liability management. She is a Fellow of both the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries.
Following her appointment, Hung Ko, Manulife’s current Global Head of Investor Relations, will take on the expanded role of Global Head of Treasury and Investor Relations. Ko brings over two decades of insurance experience and holds an MBA from McGill University.
