Malibu Life appoints former Prudential executive as CEO
Malibu Life announced the appointment of Todd D. Shriber as chief executive officer, effective July 20, 2026, succeeding Gary Dombowsky, who will remain involved with the company as non-executive director of Malibu Life Reinsurance SPC and senior advisor.
Shriber joins Malibu Life from Prudential Financial, where he served as chief operating officer and head of strategy for the company’s global retirement and insurance businesses, overseeing operations tied to more than $40 billion in annual sales across markets including the US, Japan, and Brazil.
Prior to Prudential, Shriber held leadership roles at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and Citigroup Smith Barney, focusing on insurance and annuities distribution.
According to the announcement, Malibu Life plans to accelerate growth in reinsurance while expanding into US direct annuity origination through its partnership with Third Point LLC.
Chairman Dimitri Goulandris said Shriber’s experience in retirement and insurance businesses at scale made him “uniquely suited to the opportunity ahead,” while Third Point CEO Daniel Loeb said Shriber’s background aligns directly with Malibu Life’s annuity and insurance distribution ambitions.
Malibu Life Holdings Limited is a Cayman Islands-based company whose subsidiary entity, Malibu Life Re , is a licensed life and annuity reinsurer.
