Lunar raises €40 million

Lunar, the Nordic challenger bank which started out as a money management app to later obtain a full banking license, has raised €40 million in Series C funding from existing investors. The new capital follows a €20 million Series B disclosed in April this year.

Founded in 2015 with headquarters in Denmark, Lunar counts 200,000 private users and 5,000 business users. It offers free banking services alongside premium accounts with different features including travel insurance by Tryg.

In total, Lunar raised €104 million and it counts more than 180 employees.
