LuckyTrip raises £1.5 million

LuckyTrip, the London-based travel app, has raised £1.5 million via a crowdfunding campaign, which brings its total funding to date to £3.4 million.

Founded in 2015, LuckyTrip is a “one tap travel inspiration platform,” helping users find a trip by setting their budgets and tapping the “lucky” button to later receive a travel destination with the option book flights and places to stay. Skyscanner, Booking.com, easyJet and British Airways are among the travel brands that partnered with LuckyTrip and the app – which enjoys high ratings in the App Store and Google Play – has been downloaded more than 500k times according to PhocusWire.

When it comes to travel insurance, LuckTrip doesn’t have an in-app integration. Instead, it partnered with Pogo Travel which offers LuckyTrip users a £10 discount on their first travel insurance purchase.
