Liberty Mutual appoints Ownwell

In February, Ownwell  announced it raised $50 million in Series B funding and introduced a national product aimed at simplifying property tax appeals for homeowners.

The round includes $30 million in equity led by Alpha Edison and Mercato Partners, with participation from Intuit Ventures and others, alongside $20 million in debt financing from Western Alliance Bank. The funding brings Ownwell’s total capital raised to $74 million.

The company is expanding beyond its core service areas with the launch of a National Appeals Packet, a digital product that enables homeowners to generate and file property tax appeals independently. The packet includes filing instructions, deadlines, and supporting valuation data.

Ownwell processes appeals end to end in key states and reports an 86% success rate with average annual savings of $774 per customer. The company operates on a contingency model, taking a percentage of realized savings.

To date, Ownwell has processed over one million appeals and reports more than $400 million in total savings for property owners.

When it comes to insurance, Liberty Mutual has appointed Ownwell. The company is also appointed with Homeowners of America Insurance Company, Markel, and Porch Group.
