L&G appoints technology, data and innovation chief
Legal & General appointed Jamie Ovenden as group chief technology, data and innovation officer, subject to regulatory approval.
The newly created role brings the insurer’s technology, data, AI, and platform functions under one executive. Ovenden will also join L&G’s Group Management Committee.
Ovenden joins from Schroders, where he served as group chief technology officer and led digital transformation and innovation. Katie Worgan, L&G’s group chief operating officer, will step down at the end of the year.
“Technology, data and AI are central to the next phase of L&G’s growth. Jamie is a highly experienced technology leader, with a strong track record of driving digital transformation, innovation and value at scale. He will be a fantastic partner to me, my wider management team and the Board as we deliver the next phase of our strategy.” – António Simões, Group Chief Executive Officer, L&G.
