LexisNexis to acquire Henchman

LexisNexis Legal & Professional announced it will acquire Henchman , a Belgian legal tech company that enhances Document Management Systems (DMS) for faster document drafting. Henchman serves over 170 legal and corporate customers globally, including major US and European law firms and companies.

This acquisition will allow LexisNexis to offer personalized AI solutions globally, integrating Henchman’s technology with its Lexis+ AI platform. Henchman’s technology enriches internal documents by indexing them at the clause level, enabling faster drafting and better contract insights. It supports various DMS providers and maintains security settings to preserve confidentiality.

Henchman’s features will be added to Lexis® Create, enhancing AI drafting in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Copilot. This technology will enable customers to quickly find key insights and generate higher quality work by combining internal data with LexisNexis solutions.

The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2024, pending regulatory approval.
