LearnVest Discontinues Advisory Service
Three years ago, LearnVest, the NYC-based startup founded by Alexa von Tobel and John Gardner (who now works at SoFi) was acquired by Milwaukee-based life insurer, Northwestern Mutual, for $250M. It’s time for an update.

The financial planning platform, launched in 2009, is discontinuing its financial planning offering for consumers and its LearnVest@Workprogram for businesses. “True to its original mission, Learnvest.com will relaunch later this year as a fresh, digital resource focused on educating consumers on how to meet their financial goals.”
Bottom Line: a new site is in the works.
