Landmark Admin notifies clients of data breach

Landmark Admin, a third-party administrator based in Brownwood, Texas, has disclosed a data security incident that may have led to unauthorized access to sensitive personal information. The company, which manages administrative services for life insurance carriers, became aware of suspicious activity on its systems on May 13, 2024. Following this, it was confirmed that an unauthorized third party had attempted to breach their network.

In response, Landmark disconnected affected systems and enlisted a specialized cybersecurity firm to conduct a thorough forensic investigation. While the investigation is ongoing, initial findings suggest that certain files containing sensitive information—potentially including data related to insurance producers, insured individuals, policy owners, and beneficiaries—were compromised.
