Kwik Fit expands access to car insurance
UK car servicing and repair company Kwik Fit is now offering car insurance through its website. Last year, the company re-entered the car insurance space in partnership with Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance, a subsidiary of MS&AD, to offer coverage on price comparison sites.
Kwik Fit has a long insurance history. In 2010, Fortis (now Ageas), acquired the insurance business of Kwik Fit in a £215 million deal. The business had about 600k customers across home, car and travel insurance. In 2017, Ageas shut down the Kwik Fit unit following changes in market operations and in the way people buy insurance.
Kwik Fit was established in 1971 and had over 600 service centers across the UK.
“We have launched Kwik Fit Motor Insurance cover to provide drivers with greater choice and cover with a company they already trust to keep their cars safe on the road. We’ve had a great response from customers obtaining cover through price comparison websites, but we know that many car owners like to go direct to their provider.” – Andy Lane, Marketing Director at Kwik Fit.
