kWh Analytics expands renewable energy property capacity

kWh Analytics renewed its agreement with Aspen Specialty, expanding capacity for its property insurance offering for renewable energy projects.

Through its licensed subsidiary, Solar Energy Insurance Services, the company can now insure up to $100 million per project location for qualified risks. The delegated authority covers both construction and operational risks across solar and battery energy storage systems, as well as portfolios that include minority asset classes.

The expanded authority follows the company’s addition of excess natural catastrophe coverage in 2025, which provides up to $20 million of additional protection for severe convective storms and named windstorms in non coastal regions.

kWh Analytics uses performance and loss data to assess risk and offer improved terms for projects with documented resilience and operating controls.
