Kemper names Eric Kappler president of P&C

Kemper has appointed Eric Kappler executive vice president and president of property and casualty, effective July 30.

Kappler will lead Kemper’s unified P&C organization, including its specialty personal and commercial vehicle businesses and P&C claims operations. He will report to president and CEO Stephen McAnena.

Kappler succeeds Matthew Hunton, who has left the company.

Most recently, Kappler served as president of Farmers Insurance subsidiary Bristol West, where he led the company’s multibillion-dollar non-standard auto insurance business. He brings more than two decades of experience in the P&C insurance industry.

“Kemper has a meaningful opportunity to build on its strengths, and I look forward to working with Steve and the P&C team to help move the business forward.” – Kappler.
