Jaunt is back

This time last year, we reported that Jaunt, a short-term car insurance provider backed by BGL Insurance (part of the Markerstudy Group), had been placed on hold.

Jaunt originally launched on May 15, 2019, offering flexible car insurance policies ranging from 1 hour to 30 days, with policies managed by DayInsure and underwritten by Aviva. In 2021, Abacai acquired DayInsure, but following the departure of its co-founders, Abacai’s website went offline.

Now, Jaunt has returned with its mission intact, offering short-term car insurance from as little as one hour up to 28 days. Coverage is arranged and administered by BISL Limited (Budget Insurance) and underwritten by KGM Underwriting Services.

As a side note, Jaunt’s policy cost includes a £10 fee for the intermediary service provided by BISL Limited in arranging the insurance.

Bottom Line: Markerstudy Group serves 6 million customers in the UK.
