Introducing Kia Flex and “Plan S”
In 2020, Kia Motors introduced its “Plan S,” a mid- to long-term strategy in which it shifts from a company focused on internal combustion engines toward one centered on electric vehicles and customized mobility solutions.
More recently, the company acted on this strategy with the introduction of Kia Flex, a car subscription model that is now live in Germany.
Users can choose from a wide range of models including EVs and terms of 6, 12 and 18 months for a fixed monthly rate that covers all costs except for refueling or charging.
“Our new subscription service ‘Kia Flex’ is an important step on our way from a pure car manufacturer to a provider of sustainable and future-oriented mobility solutions. Many drivers are looking for flexible mobility offers that they can use easily when needed. With ‘Kia Flex’ we offer these predominantly younger customers a tailor-made all-round carefree package with full cost transparency, which can be booked completely online and, supported by our large, efficient dealer and service network, is available nationwide. ‘Kia Flex’ is also an ideal solution for customers who would like to try out a vehicle over a longer period of time.” – Thomas Djuren, Managing Director of Kia Germany.
The monthly rate includes vehicle insurance (partial, fully comprehensive and liability insurance), vehicle tax, registration costs, factory freight, booked free kilometers, broadcasting fees, free vehicle check before vehicle return, maintenance & inspection, general inspection and seasonal tires.
In addition to the various vehicles and subscription periods, customers can choose between different annual mileages of 10,000 to 30,000 kilometers.
This service is delivered in partnership with Fleetpool , which is part of ALD Automotive , a French car rental company owned by Societe Generale .
