Intact launches $1 million Olympian community grant program

Intact Insurance  and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) have launched Intact Olympian Impact, a three-year, C$1 million program that will fund community sports initiatives led by Team Canada Olympians.

The program will award grants to Canadian Olympians to support projects focused on expanding access to sport, promoting healthy play for youth, and advancing sustainability, in line with the COC’s Team Canada 2035 strategy centered on Play, Podium, and Planet.

Applications opened on August 6 and will close on September 7, with grant recipients expected to be announced in fall 2026.

The initiative builds on the former OLY Canada Legacy Grant program and has previously supported projects including Charles Hamelin’s Glissez vers l’Integration, Laura Stacey’s S7 Sticks In For Charity Road Hockey Tournament, and Oluseyi Smith’s Racing to Zero.

Intact, Canada’s largest property and casualty insurer, said the investment extends its partnership with Team Canada beyond Olympic sponsorship by helping athletes create lasting impact in communities across the country.
