Insurance startup wataday shuts down
We first introduced wataday in January 2020. The Barcelona-based P2P startup was a team of 2 who looked to offer “transparent, fast and fair” renters and home insurance starting at €5 and €8 a month, respectively. According to its site, wataday planned on offering a quick, transparent (charging a fixed 30% fee), and fair (incorporating a money-back component) service, where customers could also invite their friends to the scheme to enjoy better pricing.
Today, the site is inactive. According to co-founder and COO Mikel Sanzol, after 5 months of validating the hypothesis, doing analysis, and “achieving great first metrics,” they decided “to stop the project in order to launch another startup with higher potential and better founder-idea-fit.”
