Insurance startup Hala shuts down
After raising $7 million in funding, Dubai-based insurance startup Hala is shutting down. In a message displayed via its site, the company shared the following:
“Hala had a great ride!
We at Hala have been working hard on building a customer centric digital insurance platform for the past two years, it has been a challenging yet exciting adventure for us and based on the reviews, it clearly felt like you enjoyed the journey too with us.
As fun as it was serving you, regretfully our journey has come to an end, and Hala Insurance will be closing its operations in UAE on the 15th of February 2023.”
Hala further shared that customers are left in the hands of its insurance partner
If you are an existing Hala customer, we are leaving you in the good hands of our insurance partner, Emirates Insurance Company . Founded in 2018, Hala allowed users to buy car and home insurance policies in the UAE through its underwriting partner, Emirates.
