The NY-based financial wellness startup was established in 2017 to offer an app that sends users $250 when their balance is low. Brigit works with financial APIs company Plaid Technologies to connect to a user’s bank account and “for just $9.99,” a user can get access to cash whenever he/she needs it.

Sounds familiar? Established in 2016, Los Angeles-based Dave operates in the same space – offering an app that predicts upcoming expenses and allows users to borrow up to $75 to prevent overdraft fees. The cost to use Dave is $1 a month. Last, Dave has raised $26.3m in funding since its inception.
