Hyundai Motor Group to invest $21 billion in US expansion

Hyundai Motor Company  is committing $21 billion to U.S. operations between 2025 and 2028.

The investment spans manufacturing, supply chain, future tech, and energy infrastructure, and is expected to generate over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs—including 14,000 full-time positions.

Breakdown of the investment:

  • $9B to boost U.S. vehicle production to 1.2 million units annually across Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis.
  • $6B to localize auto parts, strengthen logistics, and expand steel operations, including a new steel mill in Louisiana.
  • $6B for advanced tech and energy projects—covering robotics, AI, autonomous vehicles, and EV charging infrastructure.

Key partnerships include collaborations with Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA, Waymo, Aptiv, and Holtec International. The announcement comes ahead of the opening of Hyundai’s Metaplant in Georgia, the largest economic development project in the state’s history.
