Hood Group launches connected home pilot

UK-based Hood Group has begun testing a new connected home pilot program centered around smart leak detectors, made possible due to its partnership with smart home provider Lightwave, which offers a range of intelligent dimmers, radiator valves, sockets and sensors that are a tad bit smarter. Recall: Hood Group recently announced the launch of an innovation lab (called Innovation Lab) to design and deploy services related to personal lines products. “At the end of the day, any new proposition has to be practical and affordable for the customer or it’s a non-starter as far as they’re concerned” – explained Gavin Dobson, Head of marketing and innovation at Hood Group. Bottom Line: a two-month pilot program conducted in three different domestic properties.
