Hiscox reshapes broker leadership structure to boost support for UK brokers
Specialist insurer Hiscox has announced the appointment of James Stewart-Smith to Broker Sales Director – a newly created role within the broker arm of its UK business. James will take up the role with immediate effect and be responsible for managing all seven regional branches.
The announcement follows a number of appointments – Trish White has been appointed to Strategic Accounts Director and Dave Smith to Head of Schemes, as the business focuses on delivering greater value and support for brokers.
Commenting on the appointments, Jodi Cartwright, Distribution Director at Hiscox UK said: “This is an evolution in the structure of our broker business that will deliver more focus and consistency in the way we deal and trade with our broker partners.
“We love to see people develop within Hiscox and James, Trish and Dave are perfectly placed to bolster our commitment to the broker channel as part of my leadership team. This is a move that will reinforce our key broker relationships and ensure we capitalise on the market opportunities ahead of us.”
James Stewart-Smith
Having progressed at pace since joining Hiscox in 2014, James will now take responsibility of Hiscox’s seven regional branches and regional broker relationships. James has a successful track record at Hiscox, having held roles with the London Market team and UK Retail.
Trish White
Trish White moved to the newly created role of Strategic Accounts Director early this year and is currently recruiting to bolster her team of Strategic Account Managers to deepen relationships with key broker partners. Trish has held a number of roles within Hiscox after joining as Regional Manager Commercial London in 2016.
Dave Smith
Having joined Hiscox in 2004 as a Trainee Underwriter in London, Dave has held a variety of roles, most recently Head of Underwriting for Schemes and Partnerships. As Head of Schemes, he will manage a team of 40 people based around the UK dedicated to the management and growth of the Hiscox Schemes business.
