Hippo+ expands to Virginia

Hippo has expanded Hippo+ to Virginia, following the offering’s initial launch in Central Texas last month.

Hippo+ combines homeowners insurance, home warranty protection, proactive home care services, and access to dedicated advisors in a single package. Customers can choose from three coverage tiers: Basic, Core, and Enhanced.

The Basic plan includes homeowners insurance and HVAC warranty protection. Core adds warranty coverage for major systems, including plumbing and electrical systems, while Enhanced also covers kitchen and laundry appliances.

Each package includes up to $400 annually toward preventive maintenance services and up to $100 toward other home services, such as gutter cleaning, pest control, and tree trimming. Customers also receive a 180-day workmanship guarantee.

The homeowners insurance component is underwritten by Spinnaker and distributed through the excess and surplus lines market. Warranty coverage is provided by HomeSure of America, a Cinch company, with claims administration handled by Cinch Home Services.
