Harper raises $47 million

Commercial insurance broker Harper announced $47 million in combined Seed and Series A funding, led by Emergence Capital, with participation from Y Combinator, Peak XV, Antler, 10X Founders, Fellows Fund, and Outset Capital.

Founded in 2024, the San Francisco-based startup claims to have attracted ~5k businesses in 13 months. It serves a variety of industries including trucking, tech, construction, and hospitality.

Harper says that it uses AI to do what “used to require an army of analysts” – reading applications, routing submissions, following up with underwriters, managing quotes, and answering questions.
