GuideOne Insurance Company, a provider of property and casualty insurance and risk management solutions, announced the appointment of Karey Anderson as chief investment officer. Anderson is a senior finance executive with more than 20 years of experience in portfolio management, investment strategy, asset allocation and security analysis.
In her new role, Anderson will be responsible for executing the overall investment strategy for the company’s portfolio, balancing risk and growth to ensure strong performance and support of GuideOne’s financial goals. She will also provide market and portfolio insights to GuideOne leaders, including the company’s board of directors.
“Karey’s talent, depth of portfolio management experience and familiarity with the mutual insurance industry make her extremely qualified for this position. I am confident that she will be a tremendous asset to GuideOne, our policyholders and our long-term financial strength.” – GuideOne President and CEO Ken Cadematori.
Anderson joins GuideOne from Employers Mutual Casualty Co., where she most recently served as vice president and portfolio manager after eight years as assistant vice president and securities analyst. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Drake University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Anderson will succeed Brian Hughes, vice president of investments, who has been instrumental in repositioning the company’s asset portfolio and who plans to retire early next year after serving GuideOne since 1992.
