Great American expands environmental liability offering into Mexico

Great American Insurance Group’s Environmental Division is expanding into Mexico through a collaboration with Great American’s División Daños México, bringing new environmental liability products to the market.

División Daños México will begin offering Premises Environmental Liability coverage starting December 1, 2025, followed by Contracting Services Environmental Liability coverage in 2026. The expansion extends Great American’s environmental underwriting capabilities beyond the U.S. and into the Mexican market.

The Premises Environmental Liability policy is designed to cover bodily injury, property damage, legal defense, and clean-up costs arising from pollution conditions at covered locations. Target risks include real estate properties such as apartments, condominiums, hotels, offices, and shopping centers, as well as medical offices, light manufacturing sites, and warehouse facilities.

The Contracting Services Environmental Liability policy addresses similar pollution-related risks tied to contracting operations and is aimed at general contractors, construction managers, and specialty trade contractors.

The new environmental policies offered by División Daños México are underwritten by El Aguila, Compañía de Seguros, S.A. de C.V.
