The NY-based startup, which has raised an undisclosed seed round from 500 Startups and MetaProp, offers independent contractors pay-as-you-go liability insurance. Shoppers can get a quote online by answering four questions. Atlas General Insurance is one partner.
Once shoppers select a quote, they are asked to provide additional information about their business, enter policy start date and send their application for review, which could take up to 24 hours. If approved, policyholders can turn coverage on or off, obtain proof of insurance, and start a claim process online. Jones, which was founded by Omri Stern and Michael Rudman, also offers AI insurance compliance assistants – called Adam and Alice Inman – for managers who deal with subcontractors; it can help with sending insurance requirements, validate certificates and provide status on vendor insurance compliance.
