Gallagher Bassett acquires marine claims rirm Reck & Co

Gallagher Bassett , a subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has acquired Bremen-based marine and transportation claims specialist Reck & Co.

Founded in 1848, Reck & Co. provides surveying, claims handling, recovery, and loss prevention services across Europe, supported by a partner network of about 250 organizations. The company has served as a Lloyd’s agent since 1891 and focuses on marine and transit losses for global clients.

Reck & Co. leaders Franz Kasten and Marc Friedrich will remain in their roles and continue operating from their current location, reporting to Manan Sagar, CEO of Gallagher Bassett’s Europe, Middle East, and Asia operations.

The deal expands Gallagher Bassett’s marine and transit capabilities in Europe and follows its 2025 acquisition of marine claims manager W K Webster, strengthening its position in the global marine claims market.
