Free Lyft rides for Blue Cross Blue Shield members

Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) will offer free Lyft rides to members that need to get to their doctor’s appointments and lack reliable transportation. Lyft app not needed as the doctor’s office will see that transportation is a covered benefit when they book their appointment and will be able to schedule a Lyft ride in either direction. Also, BCBS intends to roll out the program across the US sometime in the summer.

And that’s the trend.

BTW, for Lyft, driving patients around isn’t new. Recall: the company has previously partnered with Splt and Ride2MD to provide on demand non-emergency medical rides.
