FICO and Jersey Telecom tackle authorised push payment fraud

FICO has partnered with Jersey Telecom (JT) to launch a solution aimed at combating the rising issue of Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud.

The FICO® Customer Communications Service Scam Signal leverages real-time telephony data alongside customer and payment data to detect fraud attempts, particularly social engineering scams.

Initially available in Jersey, the UK, and Spain, the service identifies signals during phone calls that suggest a customer is being coached into sending money to scammers.

Early implementations by UK banks have seen significant reductions in fraud and false positives, providing effective real-time intervention against scams.
