Ethos CFO steps down
According to a LinkedIn post, Ethos CFO Anan Kashyap is stepping down after 18 months.
Kashyap was Ethos’ first CFO and he worked at several high-growth startups. Prior to joining Ethos, Kashyap spent five years at social commerce marketplace Poshmark, helping the company go public. Previously, he served as VP of Strategic Finance, Investor Relations, and Corporate Development at GrubHub, where he helped launch third-party delivery services and execution of the IPO and follow-on offering. Prior to GrubHub, Kashyap served as VP of Finance at KAYAK, where he guided the company’s internal execution for its IPO and subsequent acquisition by Booking Holdings.
Kunal Mehta, Ethos’ VP of Finance and Corporate Strategy, is taking on the CFO role.
Another senior employee who is no longer with Ethos is VP of sales Nicholas Fitzer. The former Zillow Group executive joined Ethos in July 2021 to lead both the partnership and consumer sales teams. According to LinkedIn, Fitzer closed his Ethos chapter last month.
Ethos Life conducted another round of layoffs recently and according to multiple Glassdoor reviews, roles are being outsourced to India. Ethos has been hiring employees in India and other locations outside the US for some time. Currently, the startup lists 29 open roles on its site – 22 of those are available for workers in India.
