Erthos teams up with New Energy Risk on new warranty product

Erthos , a company specializing in large-scale renewable energy technology, has created a new way to install solar panels called Earth Mount Solar. This method involves placing solar panels directly on the ground, avoiding the need for traditional mounting structures like poles and tracking systems. This design speeds up installation, reduces material costs, and makes maintenance easier, ultimately increasing profits for solar project developers.

To support this new technology, Erthos has teamed up with New Energy Risk (an insurance company under Paragon Insurance Holdings) and CAC Specialty (an insurance broker) to develop a special insurance-backed warranty for their Earth Mount Solar systems.

New Energy Risk determined that Earth Mount Solar technology meets the standards for performance insurance, which provides coverage for the system’s performance, even in specific situations like floods and hailstorms.

This new insurance-backed warranty is meant to boost confidence among buyers by providing additional protection from an A-rated insurer for the unique way these solar panels are installed. This warranty is expected to encourage more customers to adopt the Earth Mount Solar system, as it offers better coverage compared to typical solar warranties on the market today.

The insurance program is expected to be finalized and available by the end of 2024, pending final approvals from the insurers.
