Envest to acquire stake in Ando Insurance Group

Envest , part of The Ardonagh Group, is set to acquire a significant stake in Ando Insurance Group Limited (Ando), an independent underwriting agency in New Zealand.

Founded in 2015 by John Lyon and Dean Edwards, Ando is among New Zealand’s largest MGAs, managing over NZ$500 million in Gross Written Premium across personal and commercial lines.

The acquisition, led by Envest NZ Limited, is part of Envest’s strategy to expand its presence in New Zealand. Richard Heilig, CEO of Envest Agencies, emphasized the move as a step toward aligning with progressive underwriting agencies in a growing market.

The transaction, which follows Envest’s acquisition of Sage Underwriting, is subject to regulatory approval in New Zealand.
