Empower launches integrated, consumer-directed healthcare offering

Empower Retirement has introduced a consumer-directed healthcare (CDH) offering to integrate healthcare benefits with financial planning. The new service includes health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs), voluntary employees’ beneficiary association plans (VEBAs), wellness incentives, and other benefits.

To support the initiative, Empower has partnered with Alegeus Technologies, a provider of consumer-directed benefit accounts, serving over 75,000 employers and more than 10 million participants. The partnership will embed Alegeus’s capabilities into Empower’s digital platform, streamlining access to healthcare-related financial tools.

The CDH offering features a unified benefits experience, a single card for all accounts, an integrated investment platform, and a stable value option for employers and employees seeking liquidity with returns. It is designed for scalability, catering to businesses of all sizes across corporate, government, nonprofit, and labor sectors.
