Dutchie and Blitz part ways

Dutchie , the cannabis commerce platform, is no longer working with surplus lines MGA Blitz Insurance on its cannabis insurance offering.

Dutchie entered insurance in 2022 with the launch of Dutchie Insurance , positioning the business as a full-service insurance agency focused exclusively on the cannabis industry and offering “inclusive protection from seed to sale.” At launch, Dutchie emphasized consultation-driven distribution, asking prospective customers to schedule a 30-minute insurance call to explore coverage options. The company also stated it partnered with multiple cannabis-focused insurers to help operators secure coverage at competitive pricing.

In 2023, Dutchie expanded its insurance push by partnering with Blitz Insurance, a surplus lines MGA, to offer insurance quotes directly through its website, embedding coverage into the cannabis commerce workflow.

That relationship has since ended. Dutchie has now partnered with McNeil & Co., which acts as the retail insurance agent, bringing more than 30 years of experience providing specialty insurance and risk management solutions, primarily across New York.
