Dutch raises $20 million

Dutch, which offers a pet telemedicine service, has raised $20 million in Series A funding led by Forerunner Ventures and Eclipse Ventures. Last year, Dutch raised $5 million from several investors including Jimmy Fallon.

A Dutch membership, which costs $15/mo when billed annually, comes with unlimited video chat access to licensed U.S. veterinarians. Additionally, in certain states vets can prescribe medication for pets. Members receive specialized treatment plans for their pet that can include medications, therapeutics, and behavioral modification advice (or a combination of all 3). A Dutch membership also includes free shipping.

Since launching in 2021, the San Francisco-based startup has served over 25,000 pets through 100 licensed veterinarians.

“Our north star is to put the power of pet health in the hands of consumers. With the consumer at the center, we want to focus on bringing as many services as possible to the consumer’s door and on the consumer’s time. We want to make our product offering and pricing transparent, high value and customizable.” – Dutch founder and CEO Joe Spector.
