domusIQ launches UK real estate MGA

Commercial real estate analytics platform domusIQ has launched a global insurance business and begun underwriting through a new UK MGA.

domusIQ MGA (UK), hosted on the Davies MGA Services platform, began underwriting on August 1. The business has secured A-rated capacity of £25 million for property and £10 million for liability and casualty through Bridgehaven’s hybrid fronting model.

The MGA will target commercial real estate, residential and commercial property owners, and commercial combined risks. Its broader insurance offering includes property and liability, cyber, political violence, terrorism, embedded insurance, captive solutions and crisis management.

domusIQ plans to use data collected from connected building systems to support underwriting, risk monitoring and loss prevention. The company said it intends to establish additional insurance businesses in the US, Europe, Bermuda and other markets.

The insurance operation will be led by Donald Harrell, who has held senior positions at Willis Re, Aspen Insurance, Liberty International, CV Starr and AIG. Jordan Moss, formerly of Lockton, will lead the UK MGA.
