Dear Flo: What’s My Blood Pressure?

Indian healthtech player eKincare announced it has raised $1.5M in a Series A round, bringing its total funding to date to $2.13M.

The startup, established in 2014 and led by Kiran Kalakuntla, offers users a mobile app to consolidate their medical history, diagnose chronic diseases early and enjoy good health. At least, that’s the goal. It gathers one’s health data from a growing list of dental, body and vision health partners, updates one’s profile and provides a user-friendly platform to view the intel. By doing this, eKincare hopes to be able to identify potential health risks, and inform the user to take necessary steps towards improving his/her health.

Also, it allows users to engage with flo, “an intelligent chatbot for anyone who wants to assess, track and stay informed about their entire family’s health, anytime anywhere with the tap of a button.” For instance, users can ask “What’s my BP” or “What’s my Fasting Blood Sugar count”, and…you get the point.

Last, eKincare is working on an appointment booking APIs to allow users to schedule healthcare services across 1500+ diagnostic centers, health care at home, health coaches and doctors.

PS. Counting three insurance-related chatbots by the name of Flo; one for Progressive, two for Huddle, and three for eKincare.

PPS. German health insurer Ottonova is now also offering dental insurance plans. happybrush included.
