Dai-ichi Life’s latest AR initiative

Canadian ModiFace that uses augmented reality technology to create ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos, specifically for the beauty industry, announced a partnership with Japanese life insurer Dai-ichi Life, which will be leveraging the tech to create an app that can simulate aging and weight fluctuations on a user.

I’m left wondering ‘and then what?’

Speaking of Dai-ichi Life, the insurer recently held an insurtech contest. Medical data analytics company – Japan Medical Data Center – is the winner. Think: an app that instantly measures a person’s “health age”, aka one’s overall well-being, by running one’s personal health “against a database containing 1.6 million points of data on health exams and medical prescriptions”. Okay.
