Coverage Cat is backed by YC

Coverage Cat is making its first meow with the announcement that it is now backed by Y Combinator.

Founded in 2022 and led by Max Cho, a former Google product manager, and Gabriel B., Coverage Cat is looking to help individuals optimize their insurance so they can get better protection at lower prices. Specifically, the startup targets those with an annual salary of over $100k, claiming that 90% of individuals in this group purchase the wrong insurance.

Aside from targeting individuals directly, Coverage Cat offers a premium service for companies that want to help their employees get the right coverage. Apparently there’s a waitlist, but premium members receive “priority intake status” from Coverage Cat’s broker partners.

Coverage Cat features a variety of companies on its site including Lemonade, USAA, Allstate, State Farm, Progressive, and others.
